This layer shows the estimated population distribution for the Dakar region in 2025, based on the Global Human Settlement Layer (GHSL, open access). The dataset is provided as a raster at 100 m spatial resolution. Each pixel contains the estimated number of inhabitants living within a 100 m × 100 m cell. This gridded representation allows the analysis of population patterns and supports the derivation of population density values at different spatial scales. This layer serves as an input for the project, supporting the identification of areas where higher population concentrations may increase the susceptibility of illegal dumping sites. EPSG:3857
