This risk related to forest fires is defined by the interaction between the inherent danger posed by fires and the vulnerability of ecosystems and local populations. On the one hand, global warming, characterized by rising temperatures and decreasing precipitation, promotes the drying out of vegetation and the accumulation of dry biomass, thus creating an ideal fuel for the outbreak and spread of fires (Mbow, 2003). On the other hand, human practices, such as burning land for field preparation and charcoal production, reinforced by increasing population pressure, increase the probability of uncontrolled fire outbreaks (Benoit, 1998).
