The study of extreme heat in the Kédougou region, based on a three-decadal analysis (1995–2004, 2005–2014, 2015–2024), highlights an alarming change in surface temperatures, corroborated by the observations of Sy et al. (2021) in northern Senegal. The combined mapping of the three periods, synthesizing the occurrences of exceedances of the critical threshold of 42°C (corresponding to the 90th percentile of local maxima), makes it possible to visualize the areas most exposed over the long term.
