The TCI, VCI and VHI indices are used to identify areas affected by drought. They are characterized as vegetation indices because they describe the state of vegetation in a specific area. The VCI is widely used to detect changes in vegetation from poor to favorable conditions. TCI detects vegetative stress induced by high temperatures and high humidity.
